Our infant care programme is designed to foster a safe and nurturing environment where your precious little ones can thrive. We understand the importance of trust and expertise in infant care, which is why our programme prioritises strong bonds between educators and infants, creating a foundation for future learning and social development. Our carefully structured daily activities engage our children in a variety of experiences that promote their curiosity, exploration, and growth. We understand that finding the right infant daycare in Singapore is crucial, and our commitment is to provide unparalleled care.

Why Choose Haven Schoolhouse Infant Care

We subscribed to ‘play being a fundamental aspect of the formative years of a child’. Our curriculum caters for age-appropriate activities that are engaging, supporting their motor skill development.

At the heart of our infant care centres are our dedicated teachers. Each team member is not only certified in infant care, first aid, and early childhood education, ensuring the highest standards of care, but also selected for their compassionate nature. We understand that a nurturing touch is essential, and our teachers strive to make every infant feel secure and loved. With low infant-to-teacher ratios, we guarantee personalised attention, meeting each baby’s unique needs with care and responsiveness.

We believe in nurturing the holistic development of every infant, encompassing cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Our structured activities are designed to stimulate their senses and encourage exploration, fostering a well-rounded development that prepares them for future learning experiences, whether in a daycare nursery or a preschool kindergarten setting.

Through engaging activities like sensory play, tummy time, music and movement, and baby sign language, we lay a strong foundation for early learning. Recognising that each child develops at their own unique pace, we tailor our approach to provide individualised care and attention, ensuring every infant’s journey is supported with sensitivity and expertise.

Your child’s safety and comfort are our top priority. Our infant care centres are designed to create a warm, home-like atmosphere, ensuring your infant feels comfortable and protected. We maintain rigorous safety protocols, including baby-proofed areas, CCTV monitoring and comprehensive emergency preparedness plans.

At Haven Schoolhouse, we prioritise your infant’s health and well-being. We uphold the highest hygiene standards through daily sanitisation of toys, cribs, and play areas. Our comprehensive health protocols include regular temperature checks, clear sick policies, and vigilant monitoring of each infant’s wellness. To support their healthy development, we provide nutritious meal plans, thoughtfully tailored to meet the specific dietary needs of growing infants.

We believe in keeping parents fully informed about their infant’s daily activities, mood, feedings, and development. To keep you up to date with your child’s progress, we provide daily reports, mobile app updates, photo/video sharing, and parent-teacher meetings.

Learning Through Play: A Foundation for Early Development of Infants

We subscribed to ‘play being a fundamental aspect of the formative years of a child’. Our curriculum caters for age-appropriate activities that are engaging, supporting their motor skill development.

Sensory play involves engaging infants with textured toys, water play, and soft materials to enhance their sense of touch and sight. At Haven Schoolhouse, we use sensory play to stimulate curiosity and exploration, fostering cognitive development and sensory awareness.

Music and movement activities include gentle swaying, clapping, and the use of baby-friendly instruments to boost coordination and auditory skills. At our infant daycare, we incorporate these activities to encourage rhythm, movement, and sensory exploration, promoting physical and cognitive development.

Tummy time activities are essential for strengthening muscles and supporting physical development. At Haven Schoolhouse, we provide a safe and supportive environment for tummy time, encouraging infants to build strength and coordination.

Cause-and-effect play involves toys that respond to touch, stacking blocks, and simple peek-a-boo games. We use these activities in our infant care centres to teach infants about cause and effect, fostering cognitive development and problem-solving skills.

Will special arrangements be made if my child has allergies or special dietary arrangements?

Yes, we can. Please inform your child’s teacher of any specific dietary requirements or allergies. We will ensure that their meals are prepared accordingly.

What are the precautionary measures taken to ensure the centres are clean and safe for our children?

Haven Schoolhouse prioritises the health and safety of your child. We strictly adhere to ECDA and MOH guidelines for safe management measures. Our centres undergo daily and weekly deep cleaning and sanitisation to ensure a clean and safe environment for all.

How often are health checks conducted on the children daily?

Children’s health is a top priority at Haven Schoolhouse. We conduct daily health checks at every one of our infant care centres in Singapore, three times per day: upon arrival, after lunch, and after nap time. This includes temperature checks, visual inspections for signs of illness, and verbal inquiries about any discomfort.

What does the centre do when there are children with runny nose, cough and other infectious diseases?

If your child exhibits symptoms of illness, such as fever, cough, flu, ulcers, or rashes, they will be sent home immediately for their safety and the well-being of others. We encourage parents to keep sick children at home and seek medical advice. Our staff adhere to strict health protocols to minimise the spread of illness.

How do I communicate with my child’s teacher?

You can easily connect with your child’s teacher through our school communication app, MERCU Taidii. Using this app, you can:

  • Send and receive messages directly with your child’s teacher.
  • View photos of your child’s daily activities and school events.
  • Access important announcements from the principal and school administration.
  • View your child’s e-portfolio and progress reports.

For more in-depth discussions, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with your child’s teacher during office hours.

How will I be informed about my child’s progress?

We prioritise open communication and transparency regarding your child’s academic and social development. You will receive regular updates through:

  • Individual e-portfolios: A digital platform showcasing your child’s work and achievements.
  • Parent-teacher meetings: Twice-yearly meetings to discuss your child’s performance and set goals.
  • Tea sessions (for new parents): Informal gatherings to introduce you to the school community.
  • Ad-hoc meetings: As needed, you can schedule meetings with your child’s teachers for specific concerns or questions.

Should I accompany my child to school on the first day?

While we encourage parental presence on the first day, it depends on your child’s age and comfort level. For younger children, especially those in infant care, your presence can be reassuring. However, once your child starts interacting with others, it is often beneficial to leave and allow them to settle independently. Your continued presence might prolong separation anxiety.

Please note: Specific arrangements may vary by centre due to COVID-19 regulations and local guidelines. We recommend contacting your preferred centre directly for more information.

What should I do if my child refuses to attend the centre, or has fears and nightmares about going there?

It is common for children to experience anxiety when transitioning to a new environment. Here are some strategies to help your child adjust:

  • Positive reinforcement: Emphasise the fun activities and new friends your child will encounter at the centre.
  • Open communication: Discuss your child’s concerns with their teacher and develop a plan together.
  • Gradual adjustment: Allow your child time to adjust to the new routine.
  • Utilise the mobile app: Stay connected with the teacher for regular updates and support.
